UPA

The Demand Response and Smart Grid Coalition (DRSG) is the trade association for companies that provide products and services in the areas of demand response, smart meters and smart grid technologies. DRSG works to educate and provide information to policymakers, utilities, the media, the financial community and stakeholders on how demand response and smart grid technologies such as smart meters can help modernize our electricity system and provide customers with new information and options for managing their electricity use. DRSG is the new name for the Demand Response and Advanced Metering Coalition (DRAM) which was founded in 2001. The new name was adopted to reflect the growth in diversity of the organization’s members and the breadth of smart grid products and services that they provide.

GridWise

Founded in 2003, the GridWise Alliance is a consortium of public and private stakeholders who are aligned around the vision of a transformed electric system. The Alliance members recognize that emerging energy and information technologies have the potential to radically improve the efficient use of the nation’s energy system. New technologies such as smarter meters, automated distribution systems, demand response, thermal and battery storage when carefully woven together with an IT overlay, can bring tremendous value to utilities and consumers alike.

 

UPA

Utilimetrics is a not-for-profit association providing utilities information about innovative technologies that lead to improved operations, customer service and resource utilization. Its membership includes more than 1,200 individuals representing international utilities and corporations in gas, water and electric industries. Utilimetrics members develop and implement automated resource-management technologies as well as participate in standardization and regulatory activities.

 

EEI

Edison Electric Institute (EEI) is the association of United States shareholder-owned electric companies, international affiliates, and industry associates worldwide. Our U.S. members serve 97 percent of the ultimate customers in the shareholder owned segment of the industry, and 71 percent of all electric utility ultimate customers in the nation. They generate almost 60 percent of the electricity produced by U.S. electric generators. Organized in 1933, EEI works closely with all of its members, representing their interests and advocating equitable policies in legislative and regulatory arenas. In its leadership role, EEI provides advocacy, authoritative analysis, and critical industry data to its members, Congress, government agencies, the financial community and other opinion-leader audiences. EEI provides forums for member company representatives to discuss issues and strategies to advance the industry and to ensure a competitive position in a changing marketplace.

APPA is the national service organization for the nation's more than 2,000 community- and state-owned electric utilities serving 45 million people.

The New England Clean Energy Councils mission is to accelerate New England’s clean energy economy to global leadership by building an active community of stakeholders and a world-class cluster of clean energy companies. The Council represents a diverse set of stakeholders, including clean energy companies, venture investors, major financial institutions, local universities and colleges, industry associations, area utilities, labor and large commercial end-users.

 

UTC

The Utilities Telecom Council (UTC) is the telecommunications and information technology trade association for electric and gas utilities, water companies, gas pipelines and other critical infrastructure companies. Founded in 1948, UTC is now an international federation of direct business members and affiliated trade associations representing more than 10,000 organizations. Working together with its technology partners, UTC's ongoing mission is to create a favorable business, regulatory and technical environment in which its members and stakeholders will succeed.

The Universal Powerline Association (UPA) aligns industry leaders in the global PLC market and covers all markets and both access and an in-home PLC technology to ensure a level playing field for the deployment of interoperable and coexisting PLC products to the benefit of consumer’s worldwide. The UPA members share a vision of openness and a federated PLC world to harmonize and share standards and regulations globally.

The United Power Line Council (UPLC) is an alliance of electric utilities and technology companies working together to drive the development of Broadband over Power Line (BPL) in a manner that helps utilities and their partners succeed. UPLC's efforts are focused in four strategic areas: Business Opportunities, Regulatory & Legislative Advocacy, Technical Operability and Utility Applications.
