
Ram Rao has led Ambient’s technology team since 2000 and is responsible for the development of Ambient’s portfolio of award winning smart grid infrastructure products. He has more than a decade of experience overseeing the transfer of advanced communications technology from the lab to the marketplace. Prior to Ambient, Ram was the President and Co-Founder of Gaialinks, Inc. a company engaged in the development of network management software tools that also provided network analysis for large heterogeneous, multi-vendor, multi-protocol networks and systems. Ram has also been affiliated with Boston University's Office of Information Technology where he held a variety of positions including, Associate Director, Network Systems, and Network Systems Manager.
Ram is an active and well-known authority in the smart grid and power line communications (PLC) communities, and has presented at a variety of industry events as well as published various articles on PLC and other topics in prominent industry technical journals.
Ram received a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering (Cum Laude) from Boston University, College of Engineering in 1988.
