Open Position:

Senior Systems Engineer/Network Engineer

Ambient is seeking an experienced Customer Support Systems Engineer, expert in data networking. The candidate should be comfortable configuring and operating network elements such as switches, routers, firewalls, and servers, and should be fluent in configuring and operating Linux systems. Throrough familiarity with DNS, SNMP, and the other elements of TCP/IP networking are critical to this position. Script-writing abilities (Perl, Awk, Expect) are highly desirable, as is experience with cellular data communications and wireless networking. Should be highly skillful in using the customary tools for network troubleshooting; experience with tools for troubleshooting and managing wireless networks, such as spectrum analyzers, would be highly desirable.

Candidate must be articulate and have good customer-relations skills. Significant levels of travel and on-site field work will be required. Should be comfortable writing release notes, applications notes, and other engineering documents. Candidate should be able to work independently, and should be highly-motivated and thorough. A total of 10+ years of network engineering experience is required.
